Travel Day 77 to Orange Beach, AL 11/17/21

After a tasty breakfast at Tacky Jack's we were underway at 10:15 heading towards The Wharf Marina. It was a quick trip and a beautiful day.

we passed Lulu's Restaurant, Jimmy Buffet's sister.

The Wharf is a great place to stay. The shopping area is right there with lots of fun stores and a surplus of restaurants. Right after we got settled, I was able to go to the office and find out about a notary. They suggested the Galati Yacht Sales for someone to notarize some papers for Hal and me. The receptionist, Kristen was more then helpful and allowed us to sit in the conference room while we waited. Kristen even reprinted the papers for me, gave us UPS envelopes and printed the label. She even walked us over to the drop box. Two days later, I needed another paper notarized and they did it again. I dropped off blueberry wine and some Lindt chocolates for them as a thank you.

Once the paperwork was completed, we took an Uber to the local Walmart for provisioning. It was a quick trip and we bought what we needed to anchor out for several days.

Thursday was laundry day and since our dryer stopped working, I need to use the marina machines. It took all morning since I was not the first to get there, but I chatted with Brenda and met some other ladies.

Only Mary wanted to ride the ferris wheel. There was also a movie theater and an ice rink.

In the afternoon, Brenda and I strolled around the shops. We found a nail salon and took their card. We were supposed to leave on Friday morning but it was weather dependent. Dockails was organized by KC and Scott on Jetstream. It was at 3:00 pm at a resturant called Mile Marker 158. When we arrived there were several other loopers there and we quickly filled a big table. We met Bill and Pat on Una Mas. Mike and Chris from Our Plan, Katie and Ruby from Silver Linings, and the couple on Journey were all there. It was a delicious meal and great to meet new people.

We ended up staying on Friday which became a relaxing day for Hal. I made alligator, sausage, and crawfish gumbo. It actually came out really good. We ate after I came back from our nail salon appointment. It was a quiet evening, just the two of us.
