JACKPOT crosses their wake! We left Mobile, AL and turned west to go with our cruising buddies Jackpot, JoAnn and Jack, to watch them cross their wake. Just under the Dauphin Island Bridge they officially became GOLD LOOPERS. New Hope, Brenda and Sonny; Cashelmara, Mary and Chris; and us all took pictures and celebrated this momentous occasion.
Entrance to Lake Yazoo
After we arrived at the anchorage and all were secure, Chris transported us to Jackpot for a toast of champagne. We are all excited for them and honored to be apart of their journey.
Gemini and Cashelmara have officially gone 3000 NM. The trip is usually done in 6000 NM and we are halfway.
Right outside the entrance to the anchorage, Ingall's Ship Building.
We tucked away in this little canal/cove due to the wind predictions. It was supposed to gust up to 30 mph. At 2:30 am, our anchor alarm went off but it was just from our swing. We had just laid back down and I heard voices. Brenda and Sonny had broken free and were struggling to get their anchor set again. After about 20 minutes they were set. They, along with all the others did not have a great night sleep. Morning came with less winds but still windy so we left at 10:00 to get to our next stop.
