Welcome to Nashville!
A sculpture near the marina that is from an amusement park that closed.
We had a short cruise to Nashville Municipal Dock. The dock is right under the walking bridge to the downtown area. There is a locked gate for security and the docks are sturdy cement floating docks.
We ate at Johnny Cash's place for linner.
After getting settled we showed the boat to a couple who ha seen us at a few marinas, but there not stalkers really, lol. Then Mary, Sydney and I got ready for the Zac Brown Band concert that was at the Bridgestone Arena. It was a short walk there and you had to show proof of vaccination to get in. The concert was amazing. We really enjoyed the show and the arena is clean and open.
On Monday we went on a Hop on Hop off bus tour but only got off at the American Picker's Archelogy Place. We went through it quickly because it is really just their merchandise and not too many antiques they have picked. We had to wait for a bus to get back on because it is the busiest stop. Hal, Sydney and I got off near the area called The Gulch and went window shopping. Sydney and I found a place called Paddywax where you make your own candles and decided to go back the next day to do it.
A bike rack.
The Parthenon.
On the bus, someone from the area recommended a sushi place in Germantown so we took an Uber there. We got there at 4:15 and had to wait until 5 when they opened. By the time it opened there was a line around the building. Apparently, Monday night is "happy hour" for sushi with rolls half price. There is a few weeks out wait for reservations. We luckily were the first ones and got to sit at the bar. The sushi was delicious, even though it was different from what we are used. We all enjoyed the meal.
Tuesday, Sydney and I took an Uber back to the Gulch to make candles, however the store was closed. So we took another Uber to 12 Ave South to do some more window shopping. After a tasty ice cream from Jen's, which was quite pricey, we continued on with shopping.
When we were in the Uber, we asked the driver where to go for "hot chicken" and he said Bolton's. Hattie B's is the popular place but we figured it was very touristy and it had one lines. We Ubered to Bolton's and Hal met us there. Sydney got chicken without spice. I got mild chicken tenders and no spice catfish. The catfish was amazing. The mild chicken burned my mouth and lips. I had to take bread and put it on my mouth to get rid of some of the spice. The sign even said not to touch our eyes or babies after eating. It is a dry rub they put on. Hal had medium and mild. I don't know how he ate it.
The State Capitol Building.
The Hermitage Hotel with several ghosts.
Skull's Rainbow Room also has two ghosts.
Tuesday night Sydney and I went on a walking tour of Haunted houses of Nashville. They told stories of ghosts in a variety of buildings.
Little Jimmy Dickens was a very short man.
In front of the Ryman Auditorium.
Back of Ryman Auditorium.
Downtown Nashville.
A sculpture called the Lights Meander that represents the curves of he Cumberland River.
On Monday night there was a Titans Buffalo Bills game in the Nissan arena right near the marina. There were 30,000 Bills fans in Nashville. The game was very close and the Titans won so they changed the colors of the bridge. Because of the game several local boaters came to the marina and hired private security guards. That was nice for us.
Wednesday morning, Sydney rolled her suitcase off the boat and took an Uber to her hotel. She was staying a few more nights with her boyfriend Spencer. We left around 8:00 am for Clarksville. It was a fun time in Nashville, but now to continue on the Loop.
