We traveled to the Commodore Yacht Club today instead of staying at Clarksville because we thought we would have more to do. It was a big push for Hal to travel the 9 hours after yesterday but felt it was worth it, At some points we were only going 3 knots due to the current. We called the Cheatham Lock and they were friendly and expedited our transit. The bollard pin was small so we had to wrap the line around it twice. It was a slow ride up. This was Sydney's first ride in a bigger lock. after the lock the river opened up and we saw beautiful homes, which were probably owned by some famous country singers. We did pass Alan Jackson's home and he has two slips in the Commodore Yacht Club.
Inside the yacht club.
The yacht club is well protected with many security gates, has wifi and free laundry. It was quiet and peaceful and only a short Uber ride to Nashville. Sydney and I walked to Walmart for provisions and was lucky enough to find Snapple for Hal.
Inside RCA Studio B
On Saturday, we all took an Uber ride to Nashville and went to the Country Music Hall of Fame and RCA Studio B. It was great to see all the exhibits. We also walked around Nashville and ate at Johnny Cash's BBQ and Bar. It was amazing to see how crowded the streets became around 4:00 pm. We left and went back to the boat.
We were able to get someone from the yacht club to come and pump us out. We felt that with having three people on the boat for so many days and then not being able to pump out again until the return to Clarksville that it was worth the effort to move the boat.
The office building in the back is on a float so if the river floods it will go up the pilings.
We departed Sunday morning for Nashville Municipal marina. It was cold and there was fog on the river.
