Travel Day 56 to Clarksville, TN 10/13/21 2200 NM

Traveling up the Cumberland River we see eagles, blue, herons, turtles and lots of trees! The current has kept us at an average of 5 knots. It is a slow go but very peaceful except log patrol. It took us 6 hours to cruise 31 NM.

Coming up to the Clarksville Municipal Marina we passed the city of Clarksville. The marina is located about 4 miles away from the town. Nearby is the Liberty River Grill which is supposed to be very good. We ate on the boat so we will probably try it on the way back. The park near the marina is beautiful and large. Sydney and I walked around it when we arrived. Then we had the idea of going to Big Lots for an outing. Well, we had to cross a five lane road to get there. We were able to stop in the turn lane as we crossed, but I felt like we were taking our lives in our hands. I do not suggest doing this crossing.

We met Thislte at the marina. They were anchored with us at Dover Island. They too are headed to Nashville.

We had a nice quiet night on the boat. I made chicken fajita pasta for Sydney and I and salmon for Hal. We relaxed after a long cruise.
