Travel Day 31 to St. Ignace 7/28/21

The travel day was the most perfect day! No wind and the lake was like glass.

We started the trip leaving Harbor Island to go to Government Bay, however after realizing I had an infection I needed to go to St. Ignace to an urgent care. It worked out well as we were able to see our friends JoAnn and Jack , and Brenda and Sonny. We had another "goodbye supper" with them.

St. Ignace was lovely. We walked for ice cream after dinner. There was a shuttle that picked us up for the ferry to Mackinac Island. The ferry was quick and took us under the bridge and then to the island.

The Grand Hotel. $10.00 just to get on the porch for a look.

The public school.

Mackinac Island was beautiful with horse drawn conveyances everywhere, from taxis to tours to deliveries. There were bicycles everywhere. If you didn't bring your bike there were several rental places. The storefronts were quaint and very touristy. Once outside the little town we saw beautiful homes and churches. Unfortunately, we didn't go in the fort or up to the Grand Hotel but walked along the shoreline and saw other sights.

We were able to go to a little farmers market that was held right at the marina. Fresh bread and veggies were the purchases of the day.
