Travel Day 26 11/27/22 Windward at Camachee Cove, St. Augustine, FL

White pelicans along the ICW.

This was a planned stop to do some maintenance. We were having shaft savers put on by First Mate Marine. Our buddy boat, State of Grace was also having some work done. This is a great marina with friendly, helpful staff. The dockhands are always great with the lines. There is also a courtesy car to use, which we took full advantage of during our stay. The marina is huge and it was 1/4 mile from our boat to State of Grace. The dockhands get around by skiffs.

Love the Santa with a coconut drink!

The first night Hal and I went to Sushi Zento Restaurant for great sushi. We had gone there previously on our way up the coast. It did not disappoint this time either.

Dinner at Harry's Restaurant.

On Monday we took the car and went to Sailor's Exchange, a marine supply consignment shop filled with old and new items for the boat. We even saw a manual washer for laundry. After our excursion, we stopped at Odd Bird's Cafe for a yummy lunch. It has interesting, eclectic menu items that are all very good.

Some of the Night of Lights Festival.

At night we took the car and drove to downtown to walk through St George Street shops and eat at Harry's. The line was huge in front of the restaurant, but when Hal checked we went right in. Everyone wa waiting for outside seating and there was plenty of seats inside. The meal was delicious, one of the best we have had so far. As we left we met this young couple with an English bulldog named Lemon. We spent a bit of time chatting with them and they gave us recommendations for Jupiter and Key West restaurants.

We saw turtles, fish, dolphins and a manatee in the marina basin.

Tuesday, Justin and Joe from First Mate came to the boat and spent some time in the engine room. They were unable to put the shaft savers on the shafts but they did an alignment and fixed our vibration. If we haul the boat we can decide if we want to put the shaft savers on since it requires more than an in water attempt.

After a quick meal at a burger place we all went back to our boats and prepped for departure in the morning.
