Alligator River Swing Bridge
We had a beautiful travel day with calm winds, until of course we anchored. Then it started to blow 15-20 knots. We now have Izzy with us and need to take her to the land for her to do her business. She has not mastered the new mat with fake grass. We got the dinghy in the water and all of us boarded. We were given information that there was a ramp that we could take her to but unfortunately it was gone. We only saw private bay homes on marsh and no land. Cashelmara decided to try the other anchorages, East Lake and South Lake. He was successful but by the time he got there it was 7 miles from us. We decided to stay and see if she would use the pad, which she did not. She held it for 30 hours until we could stop at a place for her. I have now learned to do my own due diligence and use my resources to make sure I find the right spot for us. If I had checked my Skipper Bob's book I would have known to go to the East Lake and not Little Alligator River.
The night was quiet. The wind died down at sunset and it was a nice night. We left early to get across the Abermarle Sound before it got to rough.
