RAMA passing us by.
New Adventure cruising by.
As we came out of the marina we had to wait for the bridge opening. RAMA, Rick and Marie, and New Adventure, Steve and Anne, passed us by. They could fit under the bridge. It was great to see them again, even in passing.
We traveled 29.5NM to Sunset Bay Marina in Stuart,FL. When we first arrived we were given a slip on a fixed dock. As we tried to tie up we realized that we would not be able to get off and that the piling was short which might get hung up on the cockpit roof. Hal walked down to the marina office and Nicole was nice enough to get us a floating slip on Dock B. Thank you Nicole.
On Thursday, my sister Jill Wollman and our close friend Lauren Spandau came to visit for a few hours on the way to see others in The Villages. It was nice to see Jill as I haven't seen her since September. After a pleasant visit they went on the road. We also had Ranier and Noel Schael come and stop by. They are associate members of the Great Harbour Trawlers Association. Thursday evening we saw Paul again as he drove up and had some more sushi with us.
Friday morning, Brenda and Sonny McBride came and picked us up to go to the boat show. We dropped off Hal since he had a class on weather he was attending. Sonny, Brenda and I had a delicious breakfast at FreshBerry Breakfast. Then of course we did some shopping and then headed to the boat show. We met Chris and Mary there and found Hal. The show was very disappointing. There were very few boats and almost no booths. Less than an hour to see the whole show. We decided to have an early dinner at the Sailor's Return. Everyone said it was really good and there was live music. The food was fine but the music , although good was too loud. After we ate we said goodby to our friends knowing we would see them on Monday in Fort Pierce.
While in Stuart, Hal and I made use of our bikes and explored the historic downtown and rode to several stores. We found Boat Owners Warehouse and went there several times. I was also able to take a long walk and on the way back make a quick trip into Publix.
There were many parks along my walk. We even went to a farmers market on Sunday at a close by park.
We met Mike from At The Helm when we first got to our slip. We told him we had met Karl Weber on our travels. He was there manning the booth for the show. He hooked us up with a guy to give our boat a great wash down. The guy was great and the boat looked awesome.
Mary's sister Joan and her life partner Bob came for another visit as they are traveling. It was great to see them again.
