We are in Florida!!! We were in NY, PA, OH, MI, IN, IL, MO, TN, AL, MS, FL, and NJ we passed in the Hudson River and LA we went by car. so 13 states we have encountered in the trip so far. We have traveled a little bit more then halfway with two side trips. We are still not in the Eastern time zone. 😂
Harborwalk Village
Anchoring in Destin Harbor, we rafted up with New Hope. There were many dolphins swimming around to welcome us. There were three other loopers in the area. Out of the Blue was tied up at the Harborwalk Marina, Wishes was at another marina and Miss Arlene was anchored not to far from us. There were not many transient slips in this area but we found at the dinghy dock for us to get to shore.
Sunday dawned cloudy but by noon the sun came out. We took Brenda and Sonny to the Harborwalk and strolled around. Chris and Mary were also there. We all ate brunch at Harry T's, then continued some shopping.
Hal and I went on a dinghy ride in the afternoon looking at all the homes in the area. We talked to someone who came by boat to talk to Brenda and Sonny. They were from Niceville, which is close by. They said tourist season was from late March to mid-October and that most tourists came from the midwest. There were many rental properties we saw as we rode around on the dinghy. We still are not sure of the hurricane season and how it effects the homes here.
Some wildlife around the area.
As a side note, Hal was happy as a pig in sh.... since he was able to get the dinghy up and down all by himself. He had a shit eating grin on his face. We are so happy we made the decision to sell the heavier dinghy and buy a lighter one. We liked that dinghy just not the weight. This one is perfect.
A home with not one but two boat garages. So curious to know what boat goes in the bigger garage. They also had jet ski lifts on the other side.
