Getting close to Norfolk

ree

We left Deltaville with iffy conditions. It was windy and we were concerned about the ride, however, it turned out to be a smooth cruise. We arrived at Waterside Marina at 3:30 just as the winds were picking up. The dockhands were very helpful getting us in to our tight slip.

Norfolk, Virginia

My long time friend, Pam Kavadias, lives in Norfolk so this is a great stop for us. The first night we had sushi at Kotobuki. So yummy!😋 The next day we ran some errands after getting delicious Mr. Shawarma. I could eat that every day. We stopped at Lowes, Walmart and Harris Tetter.

We had a great unexpected visit from our dear friends, Brenda ad Sonny McBride. They were up to check on their boat and came for a visit and dinner. We dined at AW Shucks with Pam and Gary. It was a wonderful meal spent with great friends. We still want to visit them on their farm some day.

Our new chair!

On Thursday we went to Decor, a furniture store we visited in last spring. There is a Fjord recliner chair that we were trying to purchase but every place we called in the spring and summer had a 3-6 month wait. Living on a boat and traveling is not conducive to ordering something with that type of wait. This time when we went in, there were several in the warehouse to choose from. We were thrilled to purchase and chair and picket up an hour later. We stopped at Kelly's Pub for amazing burgers while we waited. At the warehouse we were able to put the chair in Pam's SUV and bring it back to the marina. We discarded our barrel chair in a heartbeat. We had a quiet evening after that since we were leaving in the morning and were full from lunch.

Halloween decorations at the pub. So spooky.

I made pumpkin bread for Pam, Sonny and Brenda.

In the morning, Pam was dropped off at Waterside and was able to cruise with us for the day. She will be picked up at Coinjock, NC.
