Originally we were set to go to Shady Harbor for one night, however Lock 17 was broken and a crane had to be delivered. We were told there was a back up of boats waiting for that lock. After much deliberation we decided to stay for a week through Memorial Day weekend. We were joined by David Weissburg and Lynn Olsen on Knot Fast, another GH37.
As we were there for a while we explored around the area and provisioned using the courtesy car. We actually drove to Waterford Visitor's Center to see what was happening up there. We did not want to be stuck rafting up at a free wall. We saw the boats waiting and realized that we would be good to go on Monday.
Shady Harbor was a great place to stay, they introduced us to Little Beers. Even Hal had one and thought they were delicious. While we were there we met Gold Loopers Diane and Bob Grabo on Journey. They shared with us lots of information.
