Chesapeake City to St. Michael's Travel Day 6 57.7 NM 9.44 hours

Leaving very early, 6:40 am, there was some fog in the C&D canal. There was also debris and logs that needed attention. Again, we lucked out with a beautiful day to travel. It was exceedingly calm and sunny. It was a long day but peaceful. We had to go under the Kent Narrows Bridge and we were not there at the opening times so we lowered the mast and went through. It was a shallow and narrow channel to get there but it saved us around 13 NM to go this way.

The moon was still out.

We chose to become members of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum and stay at their marina. It was a huge museum with many interesting buildings and the grounds were nicely kept. It is close to all the shops and restaurants and easy to walk Izzy to parks. The membership also gave us discounts at local stores and restaurants. Being a member also gives us access to over 70 other maritime museums. It was rainy and overcast but we walked to town and the museum without getting soaked. Bob, Grace, Hal and I enjoyed dinner at The Crab Claw, which had a great view of the marinas and bay.

The lighthouse at the museum.

The town is decorated for Halloween.

The bridge that used to connect Tilghman Island to the rest of the mainland.

Dinner at The Claw.

Interesting art work at the restaurant.

A book exchange for the community.
